Cosumnes River, 2007, 2008, and 2009

Ours trips to the Nature Conservancy site at Cosumnes River, and nearby Staten Island, welcome the annual sandhill crane viewing season. The 2008 season begins with #20. The 2009 season begins with #27.

Who hikes in August in the Inner Gorge? Only an idiot who couldn't get a permit at any other time...hence, here I am! Alone, but surrounded by many...and then Nancy joined me for some Rim walking and condor watching.

Cosumnes River and Staten Island Preserves, November and December 2006

Nancy and I went to see the migrating birds at a nearby Nature Conservancy Preserve in November, and watched the flyovers at Staten Island in December.
